Global sensation Adele continues her strangle of the top of the charts as “Someone Like You” remains at number 1 for a 4th non-consecutive week on the Billboard Hot 100. The track which was co-written and co-produced by Adele along with Dan Wilson sold a further 207,000 copies, which was more than enough to hold off Maroon 5′s “Moves Like Jagger” which remains at number 2 for another week.
The track, however, is facing growing competition as Rihanna’s “We Found Love” is the biggest gainer at both radio and digital outlets and this is only set to increase further after the accompanying visual premiered yesterday.
Over on the album charts Adele’s “21″ is static at number 2 after selling a further 111,000 copies. The album, which has never spent a week outside the top 4 since its February release is held off the top spot by rock band Evanescence, who score their second number 1 album with their self-titled third set which debuts with 170,000 copies.
