  MAYOWA : First of all, tell me about  yourself, family & education background?

E.HYPNOTIC : My real name is Emeka Christopher Nwune but popularly known as Emeka Hypnotic. I'm Libra, born, grew up and schooled in Lagos Nigeria until university level. I'm currently a Medical Student in Lugansk Medical University, Ukraine. I'm from a family of 4 children(All boys) and i'm the third. I'm a song writer, rapper, performer, blogger, fashion artist and the list goes on..lol

MAYOWA : How did you get your stage name? 

E.HYPNOTIC : (Laughs) Actually, my stage name is actually a fusion of my first name and my Entertainment crew name 'Hypnotic Entertainment'. So people just started calling me 'Emeka Hypnotic' and then i got used to it.

MAYOWA : How would you describe your kind of music?

E.HYPNOTIC : My music is a blend of hip hop with afro-beats. I though if i just do hardcore rap, people will be like what is this one feeling like He thinks he's some jay-z of something.. So in one word, i'll describe it as afro-hip hop 

MAYOWA : Medicine & Music?  Sexy combination but being a medical student is also a tough challenge. So how have you been able to focus on both?

E.HYPNOTIC : It's really not easy but presently my medical carrier is 1st. I take the music more like a hobby coz i really enjoy doing what i do. I get motivated when i see my friends have my songs on their phone, even go as far as memorising the lyrics. So i try as much as possible to balance both worlds not to lose focus and use my time wisely.

MAYOWA : Growing up the kind of music we all listened to was different, what kind of music did you listen to growing up? How’s it different from what you listen to now?

E.HYPNOTIC : Growing up i listened to a lot of African music and few foreign music. I listened to Tuface, p-square, Mode9, Ruggedman, Dbanj, styl-plus a lot. Then as for foreign music, i listened to 2pac, Eminem and Michael Jackson mostly.. I used to try to dance like michael Jackson then..lol.. well i guess we all did (laughs) 

MAYOWA : What song do you remember most as a child?

E.HYPNOTIC : D'banj - Why me

MAYOWA : What made you realize you wanted to pursue music as a career?

E.HYPNOTIC : Growing up, i always wished to perform to a big crowd and everyone cheering. Then i used to chip in few lyrics for my elder bro who is also and artiste. As i matured a bit, i became a promoter, atriste manager and all... I had a couple of artistes i was managing. As i got into uni, i felt i had enough experience to do my own thing  and i also had access to all i needed like studio and all. Later in 2010 i recorded my first track "GoodLife". 

MAYOWA : How much creative control do you have on your own music?

E.HYPNOTIC : I try as much as possible to do everything original and tell the truth in my music lyrics. I consciously make music my peers can easily relate with. I try my best to be creative enough and not music for the clubs. 

MAYOWA : What are your immediate career goals? (up to 1-3years)

E.HYPNOTIC : Currently i'm still working on myself, trying to make all the necessary connects i'll need. In 3 years i see myself as a crtified Medical doctor, by then i'll consider it the genesis of my music career.

MAYOWA : What does your family think about your music career? Do they support you?

E.HYPNOTIC : My family support me 100 %. On bbm, my mum uses my pic of me performing, my song is her ringtone. I'm planning on shooting a music video soon and my parents are sponsoring it. o y'all watchout for that! 

MAYOWA : Do you have any other interests or talents you’d like to tell me about?

E.HYPNOTIC : I think i'll stil be intrested in Artiste management and music production.

MAYOWA : Do you currently have an agent, endorsement, sponsor or record label?

E.HYPNOTIC : No

MAYOWA : Where do you think your biggest fan base is located, Nigeria or Ukraine?

E.HYPNOTIC : Ukraine 

MAYOWA : So what are your up-to-date plans? New releases? Events? Performances?

E.HYPNOTIC : I recently released a track titled 'Ishe Waa Ni' on the 1st of Feburary y'all go check it out, google it. I have shows lined up all around Ukraine and some people have been hinting me for some plans this summer in Nigeria. So looking forward to that too. I actually have 5 newly recorded tracks -  3 featuring people and 2 i did solo. I'm dropping a track soon so watchout.

MAYOWA : What do you do when you’re free asides music ?

E.HYPNOTIC : I love playing snooker, i play basketball, chess. I have a blog check it out - www.emekahypnotic.blogspot.com

MAYOWA : What do you think your biggest break or opportuinity has been so far?

E.HYPNOTIC : Hanging out with Davido, at home, then we all went to the club together. We all got the same v.i.p treatment coz he treated me as his guy. I guess thats my biggest opportunity.
