Teased by Magicsticks a couple weeks back via instagram, “Jogodo” is a laid-back, groove-heavy record that leans more into feel and mood rather than lyrical complexity. Asake stays in his comfort zone which street-rooted melodies and a rhythm that feels familiar yet effective. Wizkid effortlessly delivers his signature calm and unforced presence that elevates the record without overpowering it.
The track thrives on simplicity.. clearly designed for easy listening rather than instant hype. It’s not a club banger in the traditional sense but more of a slow-burn anthem, the kind that grows on you with time.
What stands out most is the chemistry...Wizkid doesn’t chase Asake’s energy and Asake doesn’t overreach to match Wizkid’s "cool". Instead they meet in the middle, creating a joint that feels relaxed, confident and intentional, something we'd like the call the "Big Boy Chunnnnee".
“Jogodo” may not redefine either artiste but it reinforces their strengths, making this collaboration feel natural rather than forced.
